James Masters

(Spike)

As the male half of what ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer'' creator Joss Whedon called ''the Sid and Nancy of the vampire set'', James Wesley Marsters has brought a vicious coolness to Sunnydale.

A seasoned actor of stage and screen, Marsters was born in Greenville, CA, and grew up in Modesto. When James is not filming, he likes to play his guitar, singing (jonty tunes), painting and writing. Before landing his role in ''Buffy The Vampire Slayer'', James attended The Juilliard School, where he starred in such Shakespearian Classics such as "Twelth Night."

During his stay at Chicago, James worked at the Goodman Theatre for the production of ''Red Noses,'' and ''Tempest.'' James also did other work as he did in Seatle for the production of "Tempest".

Before Spike in ''The Buffy Vampire Slayer'', James has guest starred in some of the popular shows, such as ''Northern Exposure,'' ''Medicine Ball,'' ''Millennium,'' and ''Moloney.''

Without doubt, Spike is the Classiest of all the Vampires, coming out with lines such as "Hello Cutie" and "Nancy Boy hair gel! " James Masters has absolutely mastered the way the English accent, even fooling me into thinking he is English. Even though he only starred in a very small role in "The House on haunted hill", we can only hope that he will start in more films in bigger roles.
